About IIA

The Indian Institute of Architects (IIA) is the national body of Architects in the country. Having started in the year 1917, the institute today has more than 15000 members. The Institute has a major role to play in promoting the profession of architecture by organising and uniting in fellowship the Architects of India to promote aesthetic, scientific and practical efficiency of the profession both in Practice and in Education. IIA is represented on various national and international committees connected with architecture, art and the building industry and is also actively associated with International Union of Architects (UIA) Commonwealth Association of Architects (CAA) and South Asian Association for Regional Co-operation of Architects (SAARCH).

The Indian Institute of Architects (IIA) web site is intended to provide information of the Architectural scenario in India for the fellow architects, prospective clients, students and people at large. Your valuable suggestions are invited to make this site user friendly and informative.

For me it’s a search, only a search. Search for that unknown that I have not known neither I know how it will manifest, that’s actually the essence of my Work.

I congratulate each and everyone for the installation of new IIA chapter for the Visionary state of Andhra Pradesh. Let the Architectural Fraternity be part of history of Andhra Pradesh by creating wonderful State.
Census of India shows huge housing shortage in both rural and urban India. Development of large-scale affordable housing is the greatest necessity of India today. Though Government is coming up with lot of housing schemes, it becomes architects responsibility to share our knowledge and services in creating better affordable, sustainable, comfortable living spaces to the people.Our challenge also rests in creating better shelter by giving appropriate solutions for the needy.

Our Journey has just begun and we shall strive to be more responsible to our profession, our society and give the best services to our clients. We will have to put more efforts to reach to the society, which can be achieved with your support and blessings.
